HELLO! I wanted to touch base as it’s been a while since I’ve had a blog post, but there are so many exciting things going on with Beautycounter. I wanted to share with you some fun photos from the L.E.A.D. Directors Meeting in Spring 2019 held at the Phoenix Convention Center. Here, I was finally able to put so many faces with names of women I’ve seen on our Zoom calls or have exchanged emails with. I also was able to meet Gregg Renfrew, our CEO which was so exciting.
Each morning our days started out with a healthy breakfast, and avocado toast and smoothies for snacks between meetings. I love this because Beautycounter is all about overall good health and nutrition. We learned about all the new products coming to Beautycounter and although I can’t share the big ones with you yet, just know, they are game-changing. I PROMISE to update you as soon as I can. Until then, I will share with you a few fun new products that have rolled out over the past month or so.
This sunscreen comes in Light-Medium and Medium-Dark colors. You no longer have to worry about sitting at the pool or beach and not have any color! You may enhance the tan you already have, or give yourself a nice glow all the while being protected from those UVA and UVB sunscreen rays. My friends and I are obsessed with this!
After Sun Cooling Gel
Should you forget your sunscreen, or be in the sun too long, we now have a gel that soothes the sun ray sting and is calming and cooling. Since my kids continuously forget to reapply throughout the day, despite my constant reminding, this gel is a staple in our home. It also has a great scent to it that will remind you of the beach!
Melting Body Balm
If you remember our Transforming Duo from the holidays, which had the Melting Balm and a bar of soap to boot, then you will know what the Melting Balm is. It stands alone this time without the soap, but it smells like a vacation and you don’t need the reservation! It’s beyond moisturizing and my hands and cuticles are in love with this product, especially if you live in a dry climate like me.
Sheer Lipstick: Pearl Shade
This new shade, Pearl, is my favorite. It’s perfect if you like just a hint of added shine, or give it to your pre-teen gals at home. It’s an everyday lipstick, a silky-smooth and ultra-moisturizing formula that will give your lips a sheer wash of color and a touch of polished sheen. It also includes jojoba esters and carnauba wax to condition and hydrate lips and no synthetic fragrance—just a sophisticated hint of natural vanilla. The shade range is designed to compliment all skin tones, and the formula is super buildable—layer it on to intensify the color, or try it under Lip Gloss for a more lustrous look. Already listed in Glamour Magazine as a favorite for 2019!
The rest of the L.E.A.D. Meeting was spent listening and talking with The Home Edit Ladies (an amazing group of gals, can they PLEASE come to do my closets!). We also heard from Bridget Moynahan who just wrote a book titled “Our Shoes Our Selves”, which is a compilation of many different, personal stories from women on which shoes they wear that have helped them become brave. Sounds silly at first, but once I read the book it made sense to me. We all have had a time in our lives where we went through a rough patch, and for these women, a pair of shoes changed their lives. When they put them on, they faced their fears and became their best self. It’s a book about motivation, strength, and overcoming fear/obstacles. I absolutely loved it and I loved sharing it with my girls.
For those of you who are not familiar with Bridget Moynahan, she shares a son with Tom Brady. She faced a difficult time in her life at one point and spoke to all of us on how she overcame that difficult period in her life. She is so beautiful, relatable, and it was humbling to hear her stories from the set of Sex and the City to Carrie Bradshaw, and to her personal life. What a special day!
We wrapped up our L.E.A.D. meeting with our “WHY”: why educate our friends/families/strangers about the importance of knowing about safe beauty and safer living. Beautycounter puts people before profit. It is truly an inspiring company and being at that meeting reinforced my why for being a consultant. We all then put together goodie bags for Dress For Success, which is an organization (if you are not familiar) to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Our goodie bags included a bunch of beautiful makeup of our choosing, along with a makeup bag and a note for a special person. Beautycounter provided these items, and each of us could design our bags with the products of our choosing for these women. So fun.
Last but not least, a bunch of us ended up at the Kimpton rooftop pool with margaritas in hand and ended the meeting making some lifetime friends/connections. What an amazing week of learning, women empowerment, excitement
